Rural Development Programmes (RDP) can be important instruments for improving the delivery of environmental services throughout Europe. The film presents how environment and climate change as a cross-cutting priority in the 2014-2020 programming period will influence the types of projects that will be implemented through RDP measures using integrated and territorial approaches.

This video case study focuses on a young farmer who has decided to cooperate in the beekeeping business with his father. He notes the importance of bees for the environment and agriculture and he explains how he developed an interest in beekeeping, what his job consists of and how he is using his experience gained abroad to improve the family-run business. The company received 133 883 euros of funding within the framework of Estonian Rural Development Programme.

The video is about a LEADER project led by the NGO Karksi Lastekaitseselts ‘Muumitroll’ that created a racetrack for young people. The development of recreational facilities for children and young adults who want to practice motocross racing has been a very positive experience for the young participants, and there has also been a corresponding decrease in anti-social behaviour, associated with youth alcohol and drug abuse.
