In rural Estonia, 13 LAGs (out of 26) have started the cooperation project `Smart Villages development programme´ together with 24 villages. The project aims to provide support and training activities to participating villages to create a smart village strategy and to implement innovative pilot activities.

A family acquired almost 40 000 sqm of land and is restoring several houses in the beautiful yet abandoned town of Rio Mouro Pequeno, located in the council of Poio in the province of Pontevedra (Spain). One of these houses will be an eco-farming school with animals, together with different granaries and a mill, while the rest of them will reflect a rural village. It will soon be open to the public and have various activities such as farming courses and school excursions, with the possibility of spending the night over in a hostel.
