This is the highlights report of the ENRD Workshop on 'Combatting Rural Depopulation: Cretaing new opportunities for vibrant rural areas'. 

It overviews the key drivers and effects of population decline in rural areas across the EU, looking at the role of the Rural Development Programmes (RDPs) and other EU policies and instruments in order to help create an enabling rural environment. It explores examples of projects contributing to the creation of business opportunities and the improvement of services and quality of life in rural communities, as well as examples of integrated approaches that can help combat rural depopulation.

This is the main report of the eighth meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) on 'Smart Villages'. 

It provides information about how a specific village (Lormes, France) has embarked on a participative process to co-design a ‘village of the future’ and the way they have built different components of the local ‘digital ecosystem’. The report also outlines similar initiatives and plans for developing local digital ecosystems in Germany, Spain and Donegal (Ireland).

This is the main report of the third meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) on 'Mainstreaming the Bioeconomy'.

It summarises the presentations and discussion around awareness raising approaches to inform rural stakeholders of the benefit of bioeconomy. It highlights also the main points of discussion on the recommendations produced by the TG on using the RDPs to promote rural bioeconomy.

La mise en réseau concerne avant tout les personnes – et les réseaux de développement rural en sont un très bel exemple. Il s’agit de se réunir, d’imaginer de nouveaux modes de réflexion et de fonctionnement, et de construire quelque chose de nouveau ensemble – quelque chose de plus vaste que la somme de ses composants individuels et qui bénéficie aux communautés rurales partout où elles se trouvent.

À l’occasion de networX – le plus important rassemblement de la communauté des réseaux ruraux européens organisé dans le cadre de la période de programmation 2014-2020 – nous voulons saluer cet esprit de collaboration et célébrer les dix ans du Réseau européen de développement rural (REDR).

Cette publication considère les réseaux ruraux à travers les yeux des jeunes, qui détermineront l’évolution future de la campagne européenne. Elle illustre aussi comment les réseaux soutiennent l’entrepreneuriat rural, l’environnement, le patrimoine rural et les communautés rurales dynamiques – des domaines dans lesquels l’impact des réseaux ruraux est évident.

This is the main report of the 13th meeting of the National Rural Networks (NRNs) in the 2014-2020 period. Event co-organised by the Irish Rural Network Support Unit.

This is the main report of the seventh meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) on 'Smart Villages'. 

It provides insights on how to use and plan Smart Villages in the future CAP Strategic Plans (according to the Commission’s proposal for CAP), and how to create synergies between the CAP Strategic Plans and other funds.

The document highlights the key point related to the sustainability aspects of the bioeconomy, looking at the current thinking around the systems to monitor the sustainability of bio-based value chains.
