This edition gives a lot of attention to what happened at the major European Conference on Rural Development in Cork, Ireland 5-6 September 2016 – known as ‘Cork 2.0’. The thematic section has “A focus on… Cork 2.0", providing an overview of the event, the main messages of the workshops, the resulting ‘Cork 2.0 Declaration’ in full and a series of 20 different participant reactions.

The edition also includes the regular “News and updates” from the ENRD and the EU as well as the usual “Rural issues, Rural perspectives” section. This features a range of stakeholder voices on topics ranging from transnational cooperation to local consultation and from a growing European network of artists to the first ever rural digital hub in Ireland.

"News and updates" include ENRD and NRN work to ‘Unlock the potential of the RDPs’, the European Fund for Strategic Investments and the new EU Circular Economy action plan.

The "Rural issues, Rural perspectives" section features stakeholder voices on topics ranging from the new global agreement on climate change to creative rural regeneration and from rural entrepreneurship to Roma inclusion.

This edition also features "A focus on… LEADER Cooperation", with reports and interviews on inter-regional, inter-Fund and third country cooperation examples, as well as efforts to harmonise application processes across RDPs.

"News and updates" include the ENRD CP work programme 2015-2016; LEADER cooperation events; and new info sheets on Partnership Agreements and Rural Development Programmes.

The "Rural issues, Rural perspectives" section features stakeholder voices on topics ranging from rural broadband to rural culture and from rural-fisheries cooperation to remote islands’ opportunities.

This edition also features "A Focus On… Communicating the RDPs", with interviews and reports on four national approaches.

News and updates covered by the summer 2015 edition of Rural Connections include ENRD thematic work on improving RDP implementation and stakeholder involvement; updates from EIP-AGRI and the Evaluation Helpdesk; and Rural Networks’ Steering Group meetings.

The "Rural issues, Rural perspectives" section features stakeholder voices speaking about topics ranging from rural networking in the Western Balkans to results-based agri-environment schemes (RBAPS) in Europe.

This edition also features “A Focus On…” improving RDP implementation, with reports from France on territorial development and from Ireland on integrated local development.

News and updates covered by the spring 2015 edition of Rural Connections include the new ENRD Contact Point 2014-2020, an update from EIP-AGRI and the first ever Rural Networks' Assembly.

The "Rural issues, Rural perspectives" section features stakeholder voices speaking about topics ranging from community-led local development to a new cross-party rural group in the European Parliament and from transnational co-operation projects to the first ever Scottish Rural Parliament.

This edition also features “A Focus On…” stakeholder involvement, with reports from Northern Ireland on engaging women in the RDP and from Spain on developing forest management collectives.
