Investment in a new rabbit farm by a young farmer in Malta

Maltese young farmer receives CAP funds to help set-up rabbit breeding business.

Project summary: 

CAP co-finance provided a young farmer with the opportunity to set-up a rabbit-breeding business. CAP funds were invested in a modem farm shed structure, using the latest low density breeding technology, ventilation and waste removal systems to ensure optimal animal welfare and productivity.

Project results: 

Thanks to the project, the beneficiary is now the head of a small commercial rabbit breeding farm with an annual turnover of approximately EUR 12 500.
