Rural Development Programme (RDP) support enabled the reforestation of land and ornamental public spaces with native forest species, while promoting environmental awareness, education and training.
Projects & Practice
This pan-Slovenian project is designed to combat the consequences of natural disasters that have affected forests across the country in the last six years. The project includes sustainable measures to restore damaged forests, adapting them to climate change, and is focused on areas that are under the greatest pressure.
A young farmer received RDP support to build stone wall terraces, helping him to improve the farm’s productivity, while protecting its soil from erosion.
A family farm invested in soil conservation practices to increase its capacity to store water and its microbial biomass activity.
The project took nature-friendly vine cultivation on a family farm a step further to develop zero-waste processing methods that valorise all by-products of grapes in a sustainable and fully circular way. The resulting seeds, oil and flour have proved very popular with customers.
Organic and biodynamic farms cooperate to jointly acquire conservation tillage equipment (subsoilers and no till seeding machine) to enhance soil quality, reduce pollution and maximise their soil’s capacity to act as a carbon sink
An EIP-AGRI Operational Group working together to increase the implementation of multifunctional hedgerows that offer environmental benefits as well as climate mitigation and adaptation.
An eco-farm implementing agri-environment-climate measures aims to foster ecosystem services and climate adaptation on-farm as well as promote wider uptake throughout the farming community.
An example of sustainable cultivation of olive trees and extraction of olive oil using innovative ultrasound techniques.
An example of a large-scale previously state owned farm, which now successfully combines economic sustainability and the provision of public goods.
