A project used Rural Development Programme (RDP) funding to ensure easy access to medical and aftercare services for rural residents.
In an area where the agricultural sector is under pressure due the expansion of a nearby urban centre, the diversification of farming activities e.g. ice-cream production and marketing, can ensure the farm’s sustainability.
The project made an Ekso Bionics Exoskeleton available to patients in rural areas. This enables community rehabilitation of patients recovering from spinal injuries, strokes and brain injuries.
Start-up courses designed specifically for new entrants to farming ensure a strong grounding in both agricultural and business principles in the Flanders region of Belgium.
