An association used RDP support to turn the ‘disadvantages’ of long periods of cold and darkness in northern Sweden, into a unique selling point for tourism.

An ecovillage was developed on Sweden’s Gotland island using EAFRD funding, providing a model for environmentally-friendly accommodation, waste water treatment, food and energy production. The site is also a template for non-consumerist approaches.
Slovak cultural association Microregion Juzne Sitno used EAFRD support to organise courses in ceramic production and wool processing, reviving a local tradition.
A permanent local international market established on a village at the Slovak-Hungarian border enabled local producers from both countries to sell their products more effectively.
