Youth strategy tackles rural depopulation challenges in western Finland.

A voluntary rescue team used LEADER support to obtain equipment to enable the volunteers to increase the range of incidents they can respond to, as well as to raise awareness among the local population about volunteering. 

Slow Trips unites partners from six EU Member States to communicate and market innovative tourism products characterised by sustainability and participation and to attract new target groups of tourists who are dissatisfied with superficial sightseeing.
 

The Digitally Visiting project has pioneered digital skill development in Central Finland. The project has demonstrated that there is a large need for local digital support to develop residents’ digital skills, especially in remote rural regions. The project encouraged and guided rural residents to use electronic services and so has contributed to making rural living in Central Finland more appealing.
 

Global Eco – Inno Eco is a transnational cooperation project aimed at boosting the green economy and sustainable businesses in the participating rural areas.

A social enterprise used RDP funding to foster social innovation and entrepreneurship in one of the most depopulated regions in Europe. 

Communities in Romania, Flanders (Belgium) and Scotland worked collectively to create a model for community-led sustainable tourism development.
