A Finnish NGO used EAFRD funding in a transnational project to exchange and develop best practices for integrating immigrants and refugees in rural areas.
The ‘Meine Gemeinde – Heimat für alle’ (‘My Community – make yourself at home’) project brought together local stakeholders into inclusion working groups using LEADER support to develop a range of activities promoting migrant integration.
An integration coordinator was hired to help refugees mostly from Myanmar and Syria with language, housing, education, employment etc issues.
The ‘RIKK’ project aimed to develop regional, intercultural competences, for a more unified approach to many initiatives supporting better integration of immigrants.
