An ecovillage was developed on Sweden’s Gotland island using EAFRD funding, providing a model for environmentally-friendly accommodation, waste water treatment, food and energy production. The site is also a template for non-consumerist approaches.
This LEADER-funded project created several small wetlands and helped raise awareness of and interest in water protection among landowners. It also contributed to increasing the amount of available water in the island of Gotland.
A Romanian company contructed of a modern dairy plant with a renewable energy production unit that uses the by-products of milk production.
A Latvian association that promotes social integration of visually impaired people, used EAFRD support to purchase 3D printing equipment for producing signs, maps and educational material.
