The event will gather changemakers from across Europe with the aim of learning and exchanging on projects and initiatives that bring a positive change in rural communities.
This international congress will bring together researchers, policy-makers, civil society and the private sector to discuss innovative pathways for future food systems that are healthy, food-secure, resilient and sustainable.
This event will foster public-private partnerships to better allocate local resources to the development of rural communities and their surrounding areas. A follow-up event (5 October 2018 – St.-Amant-Tallende, France) will expand the outreach to partners in the region.
The conference will discuss the conservation of genetic resources in agriculture and, specifically, the results of an EU-funded study showcasing inspiring examples of how to make the conservation of neglected breeds and varieties economically viable and encourage take-up.
