The European Commission and the ENRD Contact Point organised a webinar on ‘Social economy and social innovation as motors of rural resilience’ in the frame of the European Social Economy Summit 2021 (27 May).
Presentations about Ireland’s Social Enterprise Policy, the Horizon project RURACTION and EAFRD-funded projects SILTA, Enerterre and Nos Oignons (finalists of the Rural Inspiration Awards 2019) provided food for thought. The ENRD presented an overview of the topic and its latest EU Rural Review 31 on ‘Rural social economy’.
The discussion highlighted challenges and identified support needs for the rural social economy and highlighted the important role of Rural Development Programmes (particularly LEADER and Smart Villages).
