This first meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group on Landscape Features and Biodiversity focused on sharing examples of European good practices and promising approaches to encourage landscape features, discussing how these can be better supported using various interventions under the CAP and what the key enablers and barriers are to doing this.
This international conference was hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in association with the Dutch Network Support Unit. As part of the ‘It’s time to fly’ conference, the ENRD organised two events.
The ENRD Contact Point, jointly with the Dutch Rural Network, organised the 23rd National Rural Networks meeting in the Netherlands as part of the International Conference: It’s time to fly.
As part of the International Conference ‘It’s time to fly’, hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the ENRD Contact Point organised a workshop to support the fine-tuning of relevant interventions within the new green architecture of the CAP, with a view to their effective implementation once the CAP Strategic Plans enter into force in January 2023.
The second meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group on Carbon Farming built on the TG activities so far. It looked at how initiatives monitor and measure carbon sequestration and discussed the conditions that need to be put in place to enable the upscaling of carbon farming across the EU.
The European Commission organised an online workshop to identify the most important elements requiring guidance and inform the drafting of the guidance document on payment schemes for ecosystem services (PES) in forests, through discussions and close interaction with relevant stakeholders.

Die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer der vierten Tagung der ENRD-Themengruppe berieten darüber, wie Klimaschutz für Behörden, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft im ländlichen Raum attraktiv werden kann. Die Tagung wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ländlichen Netzwerk der Wallonie ausgerichtet.
Diese Videokonferenz ermöglichte als Ergänzung zu den Themengruppentagungen und als Reaktion auf das konkrete Interesse an dem Thema einen stärker fachbezogenen Austausch über Erfahrungen mit der Biogaserzeugung in ländlichen Gebieten Europas.
