The fifteenth meeting of the European Rural Networks’ Steering Group (SG) exchanged on the CAP Reform and other relevant EU Policy Initiatives. SG members received an update on the preparation of the Long Term Vision for Rural Areas. The meeting also provided an update on planned and forthcoming rural networks’ activities, including an exchange on future CAP networking needs.
The meeting explored tested experiences of promoting the green transition at the local or sub-regional level, including EAFRD-funded projects as well as other territorial initiatives. Participants discussed the factors that have led to the successful engagement and uptake of sustainable practices and reflected on the lessons that can be learnt from these experiences for the design and implementation of the CAP Strategic Plans.
The European Network for Rural Development (ENRD), in close cooperation with the European Commission, organised a webinar on 10 May 2021: 'Getting the CAP Strategic Plans done: the voice of regions and stakeholders'.
This was the final meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) in the current cycle to contribute to developing the “EU Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas (LTVRA)” announced by the President of the European Commission and where the Commission is foreseen to adopt a Communication in June 2021.
The aim of this virtual workshop was to discuss how to create linkages across geographies, themes and initiatives; to share lessons on best practice and added value in collaboration and consider virtual linkages as well as to foster new collaborative initiatives between NRNs.
This LEADER Thematic Lab explored how LEADER funding and implementation can be made simpler by the application of simplified cost options during the transition period and under the CAP Strategic Plans.
The European Network for Rural Development, in close cooperation with the European Commission, has organised a virtual event - ‘Rural Vision Week: Imagining the future of Europe’s rural areas’ between 22 and 26 March 2021.
The Rural Inspiration Awards ceremony was the final stage in a competition recognising projects from across the EU. The third edition of these awards had five winners, announced by DG AGRI Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski during the online award ceremony, as part of the ENRD ‘Rural Vision Week’. Watch it here!
The Good Practice Workshop (GPW) ‘Improving data-management and information systems for the purpose of evaluation’ will take place on 16-17 March 2021 and has the overall objective to reflect on innovative experiences in relation to data management and information systems for evaluations in the context of the CAP.
