The first meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group on Promoting the Transition to the Green Economy was hosted by the Contact Point in Brussels on 16 December 2015. The Thematic Group is focused on using the Rural Development Programmes (RDPs) to help make practical changes. The theme was explored through a presentation on defining the Green Economy and why it matters, followed by presentations of practical examples and analysis of what RDPs can and do support. Participants contributed through discussions, taking into account the scope and focus of the topic and how this work should be progressed practically.
The twin priorities of making the Green Economy real and making it work were identified. The second meeting of the Thematic Group will focus on making the Green Economy real.
