The ENRD has launched the new Thematic Group ‘Making the seven LEADER principles work in practice for all LAGs under the CAP Strategic Plans’.

The seven LEADER principles cover: public-private partnership, territorial approach based on sub-regional areas, integrated local development strategy, bottom-up management, cooperation, networking and innovation in the local context.

The TG identified and promoted a better understanding of the various ways (methods, tools, rules, guidance, etc. designed by Managing Authorities in Member States and LAGs) that can ensure that the seven LEADER principles are fully delivered in local development by every LAG in the EU.

Ideas and recommendations from the TG could be used by MS authorities and LAGs for developing relevant rules, criteria, guidance, training and networking support. The TG considered LAGs across the whole EU and across different levels of capacities.
