The ‘Rural Voices’ report provides a qualitative analysis of the findings from stakeholder workshops contributing to the long-term vision for rural areas.
This ENRD report records the hopes and concerns of more than 3000 rural citizens from 19 different EU countries who participated in a series of workshops aimed at encouraging rural citizens to reflect on the social, economic, and environmental conditions of their own rural area and how it might change over the next 20 years, what developments they would like to see and the conditions and policies needed to reach their future vision. The ENRD, in close cooperation with the European Commission, organised a virtual event - ‘Rural Vision Week: Imagining the future of Europe’s rural areas’ between 22 and 26 March 2021.
This interactive event included high level presentations and discussions, a marketplace, workshops and ‘fringe’ activities. These involved European stakeholder participants in working together to contribute to the preparation of a long term Vision for the future of EU rural areas in relation to which the Commission is scheduled to adopt a Communication later this summer. The ENRD, in close cooperation with the European Commission, organised on 10 May 2021 the webinar : 'Getting the CAP Strategic Plans done: the voice of regions and stakeholders'.
The aim of the event was to share views and exchange experiences through high level discussions with the European Commission, European Parliament and others regarding the participation of regions and other stakeholders during preparations for the future CAP Strategic Plans.
The event was webstreamed live on YouTube.
The Marketplace is an integral part of the Rural Vision Week programme, running alongside other activities such as the plenary sessions, the workshops and the fringe events.
‘OUR RURAL’ Marketplace aims at providing various rural stakeholders including local communities, regional/national stakeholders, EU-wide organisations and research projects, the opportunity to present their ideas and contribution to the Long-Term Rural Vision until 2040.
