Key themes of LAG strategy:
Additional information on the strategy:

The main point of the strategy consists in becoming a glocal territory, by implementing the territorial resilience and the social and business innovation, still in the framework of Territorial Social Responsibility from a cross-cutting perspective. Therefore, Association is willing to continue working in the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the core idea of the previous strategy by which very good results have been achieved. However, in this case, emphasis will be put in the innovation regarding economic activities and within the framework of the relationship between public and private entities.

The Association plans to develop this goal through four pillars. Firstly, it is willing to involve youth in rural innovation and join energies in order to retain talent. Secondly, with the target of promoting the employment and the economic dynamism, non traditional sectors will be reinforced in order to contribute to the diversification and it will watch over the spread of the economic activities across the territory. Thirdly, innovation and knowledge transfer will be promoted, by supporting specially those projects and networks that encourage the quality and innovative purposes. Finally, in order to assure a sustainable management of resources and contribute to the mitigation of climate change, it is proposed to boost the energy self-sufficiency and the generation of new management models that allow maintaining the landscape and the preservation of the natural heritage.

These four pillars become several generic and cross-cutting purposes. In the youth sphere, efforts will be addressed to the generation of opportunities for the qualified population and for the employment of young people, by facilitating professionalising training.

Regarding the economic and employment areas, it is necessary to develop and strengthen new industries beyond the traditional ones, related to high-qualified and added value employment. Moreover, projects of social innovation and cooperative economy will be promoted in order to respond to social needs; the implementation of local activities will be boosted to fight against the depopulation in the most disadvantaged areas; and the appearance of a quinary sector, emerging nowadays, will be encouraged, in order to bring with the development of projects based on human capital, by applying new management methods and business relationships.

Thirdly, regarding the innovation and knowledge transfer, efforts will focus on supporting innovative purposes in quality tourism, with the aim of diversifying, enlarging the season of the existing offer and attracting new visitors; innovative products and services will be promoted among the industrial and agrifood sectors; and work will be done to establish inter-sectorial networks and public-private cooperation.

Regarding the management of the natural resources and the mitigation of climate change, the Association is willing to encourage the efficient use of resources and the energy self-sufficiency, and the preservation and enhancement of natural spaces, through land stewardship initiatives, while involving institutions, companies and the tertiary sector.

Finally, and as a cross-cutting aspect, the Association suggests working to improve the connectivity and the sustainable mobility, by incorporating aspects such as the optimisation of the infrastructures and the supply of global services. It is also willing to enhance the cultural heritage and the landscape as elements to strengthen the identity. Finally, the consolidation of the CSR in enterprises, organisations and institutions as a model of development and with the aim of maximise the impact and the results of the strategy.
