CEJA – European Council of Young Farmers
CEJA provides representation for young farmers across Europe at the EU level. Its main objective is to promote a younger and innovative agricultural sector across the EU 27 and to create good working and living conditions for young farmers and potential young farmers.

Young and ….farmers around Europe
It is an initiative started by the Walloon network and including a cooperation project implemented with the participation of other six networks, namely Belgium Flanders, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Spain, Hungary, and the Netherlands. The scope of the initiative was to provide some useful information to support young people who want to start a farming business in their country.

Walloon regional rural network
The Walloon rural network has set up a thematic group on young farmers and multifunctional agriculture in order to disseminate information on young farmers in Belgium.

Italian Rural Network
The Italian National Rural Network set up YOURuralnet, a community of practice for young farmers and has launched a national competition ‘nuovi fattori di successo’ intending to promote and disseminate good practices about young farmers.

It is an initiative that aims to inspire and encourage the next generation of sustainable farmers. Videos telling the stories of young farmers in different countries who decided to start a farm are featured.

Taavi the young beekeeper - 2012
Place: Ülenurme, Tartumaa County, Estonia
This video case study focuses on a young farmer who has decided to cooperate in the beekeeping business with his father. He notes the importance of bees for the environment and agriculture and he explains how he developed an interest in beekeeping, what his job consists of and how he is using his experience gained abroad to improve the family-run business. The company received 133 883 euros of funding within the framework of Estonian Rural Development Programme.
Honey Bio Gold Sicilia - 2014
Place: Italy
The video tells the story of the “Bio Gold” agricultural holding developed mainly around beekeeping activities. It is located in Sicily, Italy. It shows how the young people contribute to the daily work in this farm.
Breath - 2014
Place: Italy
This video is about the agricultural holding “Eucaliptus” of Dario Di Vaira which is located in the Italian vineyard area of Bolgheri in Tuscany, Italy. The film presents the division of tasks on the farm between parents and children as well as the diversity of the activities carried out on the farm site.
La CascinAdda - 2014
Place: Italy
Short documentary born after the meeting between a movie director, Alessandro Quadretti, and a young farmer. "La Cascinassa" by Roberto Adda is a farm set up in Pavone Canavese (Italy).
