Background

A lack of high-quality training courses was detected; an official training centre would improve training facilities availability and human capital in the region.

Objective

The objective was to give job training officially approved by regional Public Service of Castilla-La Mancha and language courses. The general purpose of the centre is to train students to improve their professional and personal skills; to provide inhabitants with high-quality courses; to improve the professional profile of employed and unemployed people and to disseminate knowledge on new technologies and communication and to support students on

Main activities

The main activity of the projects was the organisation of courses, such as: i) cccupational training courses for the unemployed such as Administrative Management, Accounting Management or Management Assistance; ii) courses to keep employees' skills updated and to improve their professional skills (such as new technologies, languages, or business administration); iii) training on health-care assistance, such as nursing assistance, childcare or geriatrics; iv) occupational Risk Prevention courses.

Results & Benefits

The main result is the availability of an officially approved training centre in the region. The main beneficiaries of the project were the population of the surrounding villages who were (and will be in the future) recipients of the training.

Lessons learnt

The main lesson to be learnt is the possibility of having a centre with officially approved high-quality training programmes in a rural environment, overcoming the idea that this service is only provided in urban areas.
