Within this project an internet portal 'Bajta.si' was established, in order to use new ICT solutions for improving communication in local society and to encourage the participation of citizens.

The aim of the internet portal 'Bajta.si' is to replace and advance conventional methods of information dissemination by using new approaches and journalistic ideas in order to offer readers innovative and unconventional ways of broadcasting information on events in Koroska. The project aims to close the gap between the decision-makers and the local population. Its objective is to involve the local population in the political process at the local level.

In accordance with the local development strategy objectives, the main aim of the project was to upgrade the information and communication infrastructure in order to facilitate long-term development of new and varied contemporary communication activities and subsequently create jobs within the main project.

1) Using 'Bajta.si' to seek answers (visitors can ask questions and make suggestions to all public servants, authorised persons, public companies etc.); 2) Koroska internet cluster (interested associations in the Mezica Valley had an opportunity to present themselves); 3) Assessment of municipalities webpages in the Mezica Valley (a jury of four looked at the contents, functionality, usefulness and technologies used on websites offered by the municipalities); 4) creation of a photobook.

The key project objective was fully achieved: successful upgrading of the existing information and communication infrastructure on the www.bajta.si website and, as a result, successful broadening of the portal activities that aim to make improvements in day-to-day life of the local population by use of information technology.

The project has led to a conclusion that the locals enjoy using internet tools when they see them as a way of solving their problems. This was most prominent in the 'Using Bajta.si to seek answers' activity. The project is ongoing and still active. The municipalities website assessment and the photobook were two other projects that were also particularly well received.
