NRN INFORMATION

The Polish National Rural Network

The Polish National Rural Network (NRN) has been operational since December 2008. The objective of Poland’s NRN is to support the implementation of rural development policy, as well as to analyse and exchange information and expertise among all stakeholders.

The Network Support Unit (NSU) of the Polish NRN was established within, and is managed by, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. It is assigned to coordinate national network operations, draft action plans and coordinate their implementation. Sixteen regional secretariats have been established (one for each Voivodeship/ province) to enable information exchange and coordinate network operations at Voivodeship level.

The overall objective of Poland’s NRN is to support the implementation and evaluation of rural development policy, as well as to identify, analyse, distribute and exchange relevant information and expertise among all stakeholders at local, regional, national and community level.

Network Participants

NRN membership is open to anyone actively engaged in rural development and willing to exchange relevant information with other members.

NRN Activities

The NRN action plan focuses on the following priorities:

• Strengthening LAG work efficiency;
• Promoting rural entrepreneurship development and innovation;
• Promoting sustainable development of rural areas;
• Promoting and supporting activities preserving and developing rural areas;
• Supporting LEADER and Cooperation.
