The Development Agency of Olympia SA ( AN.OL. SA) functions in an area that has an important advantage which is Ancient Olympia, but at some extent it is a disadvantage for the area. Despite the great recognition in an international level of the area, the benefits from the large number of tourists do not reach a local level. The visitors only stay for a small period of days or hours. ANOL trying to implement practices that will alter this situation. Through the LEADER’s programs , that have as a main target the connection of Ancient Olympia with the surrounding area that has an important network of cultural and natural assets that connect historically with Ancient Olympia, creating a touristic routes that aims to attract visitors to the surrounding area that is unknown to them.
