We are Sweden´s smallest Leader area in terms of population (8 500) yet not in geography since our area cover an area similar to Netherlands. We are in the Swedish mountain, bordering Norway. Our biggest village is Åre well known among alpine skiers and regurally hosting world-class alpine events. Our strategy aims to evolve the collaboration between tourism interests and our declining primary/rural production, as the tourism longterm is dependent on the rural sector, for instance: an open landscape and local food production.
