LEADER 2012_Exchange about territorial tools and showcases to revitalize the local wood field

The territory of the « Haut Béarn » have worked for several years on the development of the forest / wood sector, to make a better use of forest resources and to sustain local firms. The two major issues for this sector are :  Modernize and structure to make it more competitive with structuring tools.  Make it more visible and attractive to consumers by communication campaigns and the introduction of showcases

Now, projects are being put in place in the territory :  A project of technical facilities shared, to promote production of forester and artisans : setting up storage facilities and sorting of logs , sawn timber drying and showcase of local production – Experiment on innovative implementation (local scale) local woods, including a project of xylotheque of local woods species.

Exchange of experiences: share with other territories, experience of set up a project of shared equipment and approaches of consultation, communication and structuration of field that ares associated. A concrete project: A local association is working on creating a moveable xylotheque as a practical tool and fun that will give more visibility to the local woods (from forest to end use). A partnership could be established at the time of the creation of the tool but also at the farm level and the animation of the xylotheque.
