The ENRD - with the participation of the European Evaluation Network Helpdesk and the EIP-AGRI Service Point - organised a workshop for European Commission Desk Officers to reinforce common understanding on the function and added value of networking as a tool for rural development policy.
The workshop provided space to share relevant networking experiences and prompted an exchange of views on how to get the best out of rural development networks in the 2014-2020 period.
The objectives were to:
- Discuss the new regulatory and guidance framework for rural networks in 2014-2020 at the European and national level.
- Reflect on networking lessons learned as key tool for supporting rural development policy going forward and to showcase relevant networking experiences across Europe.
- Identify those aspects that are most relevant for Desk Officers in assessing RDPs and identify possible ways to jointly improve networking as a policy tool.
