INTERREG IVC Thematic Capitalisation Event – Policy sharing, policy learning

Summary:

The workshop was designed to showcase policy recommendations and lessons learnt resulting from the analysis of the projects.

Thematic specialists and practitioners presented the knowledge acquired through interregional cooperation and discussed the latest policy trends and common challenges identified in European regions. It was an opportunity to meet good practice owners and policymakers from all governance levels and learn about innovative solutions that could be useful and easily transferable to any EU region.

The workshop agenda included:

  1. a panel discussion devoted to introduce the INTERREG IVC programme and its work in improving regional policies in the past 7 years;
  2. 12 thematic workshops ranging from innovation to the environment, to share best practices and recommendations as well as to learn about the latest EU policy trends and challenges;
  3.  a closing plenary to tell the story of the day.

Main findings:

Over 300 participants from 26 different countries attended workshops to discuss innovative solutions adapted to their regions. Thematic workshops were a place to learn about the latest policy trends and challenges and discuss innovative solutions suitable for Regions in particular regarding rural development, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, sustainable transport and eco-innovation and climate changes.
