DG AGRI and the ENRD Contact Point are jointly organising a workshop on Measure 16 ‘Cooperation’ (M16) on 1 June 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

The workshop is targeted at national and regional Managing Authorities and Paying Agencies and will:

  • address the challenges currently faced by programme authorities in the implementation of M16; and
  • explore the wide range of cooperation opportunities that the Measure offers.

Specifically, the event will address questions related to the legal form of Cooperation among beneficiaries and the controls to be performed. It will further explore the potential M16 offers for achieving objectives in fields such as sustainability and climate change; competitiveness of the primary sector and its linkages to the food supply chain; as well as local development and social inclusion.

The workshop will cover all aspects of the Measure except those related to the implementation of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP).

The ENRD Contact Point will organise a workshop on LEADER Cooperation on 14 June 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

The event is mainly targeted at Managing Authorities (MAs) and National Rural Networks (NRNs). It will draw on initiatives or pieces of work from Member States and regions which are more advanced on the topic and explore the potential for their wider relevance and application. Specifically, the event will look at MA and NRN initiatives enhancing cooperation; improving coordination and complementarity between Rural Development Programmes (RDPs); harmonising processes, rules and tools; and working with other Funds and stakeholder groups.

The meeting has the following main objectives:

  • To discuss future activities of the European Rural Networks and ensure their relevance for SG member organisations;
  • To identify the key questions on the Rural Networks’ self- assessment;
  • To continue to reinforce the synergy and complementarity between activities carried out by the networks;
  • To start preparations for the next Rural Networks Assembly Meeting.

The ENRD Contact Point will host a European Seminar on ‘Changing our Mindsets - Seizing opportunities in the Green Economy’ on 1 July 2016 in Brussels.

The ENRD Contact Point will host a European Seminar on ‘Changing our Mindsets - Seizing opportunities in the Green Economy’ on 1 July 2016 in Brussels.

The Seminar is part of ENRD work on ‘Promoting the Transition to a Green Economy’ where the main aim is to share experiences and examples, and to generate concrete proposals for ensuring that the Rural Development Programmes (RDPs) support rural stakeholders to benefit fully from all the opportunities that a Green Economy can bring.

The event will bring together national and regional Managing Authorities (MAs) and other stakeholders concerned with the implementation of RDPs to prioritise actions that can promote the transition to a Green Economy.
